CATV, MATV
Blue Peter performs design and deployment of in-house CATV and MATV networks for institutions such as hospitals, correctional facilities and military bases. Our areas of expertise are:
- System design
- Design/build/test of coaxial distribution plant
- Design/build/test of fiber-optic plant (inside plant, outside plant)
- Specification and integration of related equipment (Blonder-Tongue, Toner, Olson)
- Design/build/test of RF-over-Fiber (RoF) plant
We will work with electrical contractors to provide specialist design-integrate-test services in support of large construction projects. Blue Peter’s approach is to design the network in great detail from the construction plans, using accurate cable length take-offs and detailed, accurate computer-based modeling. This arrives at a design that is basically “right first time” and needs very little in the way of field adjustment. This makes good use of technicians’ time on site and cuts post build latency to sign-off. We are familiar with the various types of cable, hardware and installation techniques, as well as the various Federal and California technical compliance standards.
Blue Peter has good experience working with CATV providers, in particular Cox Business and Charter (through Brighthouse and Time Warner Cable). We can act as a service reseller either as a Small Business (under Federal contract) or can bundle the service within network build/service/maintain package.
In terms of technology, Blue Peter is fully familiar with the technical performance, cabling and equipment requirements for:
- Analog, SD channels (NTSC etc)
- Digital, HD and UHD 4K Channels (QAM OFDM, ATSC 8VSB)
- IPTV
- Terrestrial broadcast TV
- In-house channel insertion
- Integration with patient systems (e.g. Getwell Network)
